The Oh lab is seeking motivated computational and/or experimental scientists interested in studying the human microbiome and its impact on health. We seek to use diverse approaches in genomics, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, molecular biology, and microbiology. Our goals are to understand the complexity of our body’s microbial communities and use this information to manipulate the microbiome for therapeutic ends.
Said postdoctoral fellow can fit into any one of the major endeavors of the lab:
-Developing computational methods for analysis of large-scale metagenomic data, in particular, uncharacterized space.
-Developing CRISPR/Cas-based tools leveraging synthetic biology for microbiome engineering
-Microbiome and microbial metabolomic modeling computationally, experimentally, and with mice
-Organoid/germ-free mouse examination of host-microbiome interactions
Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD with an exceptional record of research accomplishments and the enthusiasm to conduct research in a highly collaborative and inter-disciplinary environment. Our lab has had a strong track record of placing postdocs into competitive positions.

JAX-GM resides in the scenic town of Farmington, in the state’s capitol region. The Hartford region, which offers some of the best public schools in the country, is made up of both bigger cities and smaller, charming historic New England towns. JAX-GM is also geographically located within 2 hours of Boston and New York and is close to multiple transportation systems, including bus lines, highways, railroads and international airports.
