The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a Sr. Product Manager JAX Mice, Clinical & Research Services (Multiple Positions) for our Bar Harbor, Maine location. This role is not remote based.
The Sr. Product Manager JAX Mice, Clinical and Research Services (JMCRS) is responsible for defining the business strategy and for planning, driving, and implementing changes to new and existing products and services to accomplish the mission of the lab and for managing and improving quality of service, process and product within JMCRS. This position analyzes sales data, operational metrics and monitors competitive business environment to develop new sales initiatives, creates revenue projections, makes pricing changes, and evaluates discount programs; achieves financial metrics of revenue growth, gross margin and net surplus contribution by leading continuous process improvement of marketing, sales, project management and operational practices so as to ensure an enhanced customer experience; initiates market research studies; creates revenue projections; makes pricing changes; creates management reports; prepares and presents responses to RFPs; negotiates and set prices; prepares large customer proposals and also detailed, fact-based reports, including executive level summaries of key takeaways of market trends as related to new product planning, market plans, competitive positioning and other business environment changes; captures and curates data from multiple internal and external sources; and executes hypothesis-driven investigations to identify actionable insights including cluster analysis, customer segmentation, and trend reports. This position requires normal business travel (less than 40%) for conferences, customer visits, business reviews, and to other worksites of the Jackson Laboratory.
The minimum requirements are a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Bio-engineering, Microbiology or in a related life science field and 3 years of experience in a professional position managing product development in a biomedical research marketplace or laboratory that includes formulating and implementing complex plans and programs to launch and support products and services within a biomedical research marketplace or laboratory; managing product or laboratory cross-functional project teams in a customer facing position within a biomedical research marketplace or laboratory; and developing and tracking multiple projects in mouse-based research. Alternate acceptable minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Bio-engineering, Microbiology or in a related life science field and 5 years of experience in a professional position managing product development in a biomedical research marketplace or laboratory that includes formulating and implementing complex plans and programs to launch and support products and services within a biomedical research marketplace or laboratory; managing product or laboratory cross-functional project teams in a customer facing position within a biomedical research marketplace or laboratory; and developing and tracking multiple projects in mouse-based research.
RATE OF PAY: Between $80,000 - $98,000/year.
