Chemistry and physics meet biology and genomics in the Mass Spectrometry and Protein Chemistry (MSPC) Service at The Jackson Laboratory (JAX). We are seeking a Mass Spectrometry Scientist who can leverage innovative mass spec techniques, especially in the area of small molecule and metabolomics analyses, to advance JAX faculty research. Working in a high throughput, service-based facility, this position requires a high degree of independence working as a secondary interface between the facility and its users. The Mass Spectrometry Scientist is responsible for organizing, executing, and recording benchwork and database entry for user projects, including LC/MS sample preparation, method development, operation, maintenance, data analysis, and quality control. The duties and responsibilities include carrying out current and future techniques and SOPs of MSPC, as well as providing consultation and advice to investigators on future projects, new techniques, and applications.
