Reporting to the president and CEO and serving as a member of his senior leadership team, the vice president of advancement (vice president) will work closely with this group and other key constituents to set philanthropic strategy for JAX, define a vision for advancement, and design and implement appropriate infrastructure to support a comprehensive, best-practices program that fosters a culture of philanthropy, furthers organizational priorities, retains existing funders, and attracts substantial new philanthropic support from individual and institutional donors as JAX prepares for its next campaign. Additionally, the vice president will personally and successfully engage a select portfolio of high-net-worth prospects and donors.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing and engaging with staff and colleagues remotely or in satellite offices, and will be adept at using technology, including videoconferencing platforms, to communicate regularly.
Develop strategies to increase philanthropic revenue, the donor pipeline, and retention. The goals will be to increase the annual fund to $10 million/year, to secure endowment gifts with a minimum value of $150 million over the next seven to ten years, and to increase membership.
Ideally the successful candidate will bring most, if not all, of the following professional qualifications, characteristics, skills, experience, and personal qualities:
