    Ph.D. degree with 0-8 years working experience in Immunology and/or immuno-oncology research. Additional experience in in vivo pharmacology, flow cytometry, and cell culture experience is also highly desired. The individual will work hands on at the research bench with humanized mouse models for drug efficacy and safety studies; FACS; murine models for oncology and/or immuno-oncology and inflammatory diseases models will be main bench focuses.

    Responsibilities

    Works at the research bench on multiple studies simultaneously. Provides regular updates regarding status of studies.

     

    Leads a team of research technologists in supporting the department’s product lines.

     

    Follows and supports all institutional policies, procedures and practices and ensures that staff is compliant.

     

    Oversees technologist staff working on study and provides scientific and technical support as needed.

     

    Supports and implements the development of new models for drug discovery in the areas of immunology, oncology and other diseases.

     

    Successfully launches research and development studies within timeframe agreed to in signed Statement of Work.

     

    Accuracy of data entry, record keeping, and ensure all study activities are properly logged.

     

    Year over year improvement in staff morale as measured by the yearly staff survey and higher staff retention levels.

    Qualifications

    Individuals with a Ph.D. in immunology and/or oncology will be considered (Immunology is preferred)

     

    Experience with in vivo study design and animal research (preferably rodents) and animal welfare and regulatory guidelines

     

    Documented ability to develop and lead technical teams

     

    Strong leadership skills including a demonstrated ability to build key relationships while influencing and motivating others

     

    Demonstrated success in making important decisions, often under some pressure and within tight deadlines, which carry large financial consequences

     

    Must have excellent human relations, communication and listening skills

     

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

     

    Previous experience managing technical staff and project management is required
