  • Summary

    The Banchereau lab is seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist with a strong background in cancer immunology. Major projects in our lab include: using long-read sequencing to identify novel splice isoforms in immune disease; using single cell RNA sequencing to examine immune cell populations in disease; and the generation of dendritic cells from CRISPR-Cas9 edited iPS cells. A postdoctoral position is available for a candidate interested in applying cutting-edge technologies to identify novel cancer biomarkers using next generation sequencing techniques. The candidate will collaborate with teams in clinical medicine, tumor biology, and computational biology discover novel biomarkers and as a result identify better treatments for ovarian and breast cancer patients.

    Responsibilities

    The candidate will present at group meetings, internal and external conferences, and publish in high impact journals. We are also looking for a creative self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills who enjoys working on teams.

    Qualifications

    • PhD in immunology, pathology, cell biology, or a related field is required.
    • A strong expertise in molecular biology techniques is required, including molecular cloning and genetic engineering flow cytometry and cell culture.
    • Proficiency in analysis programming skills (e.g. R or Python) and SQL and strong quantitative analytical skills in statistics is a plus.
    • Experience in bioinformatics, systems biology, and cellular metabolism would be beneficial.
    • Preference will be given to candidates with experience with a background in T cell immunology, dendritic cell biology, and immunotherapy.
