  • Summary

    The Banchereau lab is seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist with a strong background in vaccine immunology. Major projects in our lab include: using long-read sequencing to identify novel splice isoforms in immune disease; using single cell RNA sequencing to examine immune cell populations in disease; and the generation of dendritic cells from CRISPR-Cas9 edited iPS cells. A postdoctoral position is available for a candidate interested in immune responses to viral infections and vaccines. Potential projects may involve: (1) influenza vaccine responses in the elderly; (2) analysis of the infant immune response to RSV and influenza; and (3) the elderly response to pneumococcal vaccines. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, virology, or cell biology.




    • Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, virology, or cell biology.
    • Prior research experience in genetics, advanced flow cytometry, NextGen sequencing, and antibody and cellular immune assays is ideal.
    • Experience in next generation sequencing, single cell technologies for transcriptomics and chromatin conformation/epigenetics, high dimensional flow cytometry (or other forms of cytometric analyses), cellular immunology, autoimmunity and/or human immunology is desired.
    • Candidates should have a publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
    • Excellent writing and communication skills, able to work independently and effectively with other members in a productive team.
    • Experience with Python, R or similar statistical package is helpful, as well as experience with univariate and multivariate analyses, clustering, pathway, genetic and genomic data analyses and bioinformatics.
