The laboratory of Dr. Cathleen Lutz seeks a Research Assistant to join the In Vivo group. The successful candidate will be a collaborative member of this cross-functional team and may be assigned work within the Research and Development (R&D) team. The position involves performing general routine laboratory procedures, such as laboratory maintenance; mouse colony husbandry and genotyping; sample collection; clinical evaluation; molecular biology and biochemistry (e.g., PCR, Western and Southern blots, RNA analyses); and, with training, the operation of advanced phenotyping tools, such as metabolic cages, electrophysiology recorders, etc.
The role requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for learning and who works well in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment. The ability to follow established routine procedures and defined schedules, to keep detailed records, and to work well within a team are critical attributes. Experience in mouse husbandry is desired but not required.
